WHOOOOOOOOO OKAY. just finished a marathon reading period that I’ve been on for the last few weeks, I’ve been re-reading keeper of the lost cities, it’s an incomplete series that I red years ago but of course couldn’t finish, where it left of before was the biggest cliffhanger (emotionally and plot wise) in the series’s history and it kind broke me.

Anyway, as I’ve re read them, I’ve noticed that, yeah, this series is way below my reading level now but it’s still good and kept me engaged most of the way through (although around the middle of certain books it’s gets boring cause nothing happens and they just talk, but as the books go on that becomes less of a problem as the author cuts to the chase faster). Either way I just finished the most recent one (technically there’s a short novel I haven’t read yet but it’s not a mainline book so I’ll read that tomorrow) and oooh boy was it a roller coaster, in a great way, it was the payoff to a lot of the stuff that had been building in the series’s history, (for context, a lot of the series is just the characters feeling hopeless because it’s all about this big conspiracy and stuff, it’s honestly draining to read all in one go but it made the hopeful and satisfying nature of the most recent one hit very hard), two characters who had been dancing around one another finally got together, everyone is finally getting their shit together, and overall it feels like STUFF IS FINALLY HAPPENING HOLLY SHIT IT ONLY TOOK A DECADE.

Either way, I’m feeling very emotionally refreshed after days of not sleeping cause of this damn book series and I’m very glad I decided to re-read this stuff. Apparently the next book comes out this November ffs tho so I’ll have to wait a while to finish. But for the first time in this series history, the cliffhanger was ENTIRELY PLOT RELATED! NO EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE THAT WILL KEEP ME UP AT NIGHT!!! So I’m very very very happy!

TL;DR: re read a book series, loves the most recent one, feeling very happy rn

PS: yes I’ve been watching what’s happening in the US rn, yes I think it’s fucked up, what do you take me for? I might make a post about it but I honestly don’t have much to say other than avoid that part of the world like the plague for the next 5-10 years.
